Makro Gold Racer Nugget Detector

Makro Gold Racer Gold Nugget Metal Detector

Introducing the Makro Gold Racer metal detector. The Makro Racer is available now and the Makro Gold Racer will be available in January 2016. I have been very much anticipating the Gold Racer as something unique on the market today - a 56 kHz high frequency gold prospecting detector with all the extra discrimination and other features to make it versatile enough for other uses.

Makro Gold Racer vs Racer 2

The Makro Gold Racer will come standard with an 10" x 5.5" DD coil and have optional 5" round DD, 10" x 5.5" concentric, and 15.5" x 13.25" DD coils available at launch. The Gold Racer has been changed slightly from the original Racer design to make the handle grip more comfortable based on customer feedback. The original Bluetooth dongle and wireless headphones are being replaced by a 2.4 Ghz design to help reduce the audio lag that was occurring with the Bluetooth design. The big announcement of note however is the very high 56 kHz operating frequency, making this one of the hottest machines available on tiny non-ferrous targets.

Makro Gold Racer Control Panel Functions
Makro Racer Display Panel & Controls

It is evident from the photo of the display panel shown above that the Makro Gold Racer shares many features with the original Racer plus has added many more. The new iSAT control from the new Nokta FORS Gold+ is visible as is another new feature called iMask. The Gold Racer adds a Tone Break feature often requested by Racer and FORS owners and it appears the Gold racer has the ability to save its settings when shut off, unlike the Racer. The layout of the control panel has also been simplified making what features are available in what modes much more obvious.

The VDI chart below is based on the original Racer model but going by the Gold Racer control panel above the target id values should be similar, though changes may occur due to the difference in operating frequencies.

Makro is fast gaining attention as a company that listens to its customers. The new Gold Racer model is the perfect example of that, creating a unique machine based almost solely on feedback provided by customers in the last year.
